"Students don't care what you know they want to know that you care."

Attending massage school is a unique opportunity and unlike any other educational experience. Many students refer to their time at the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage as "life altering." The administrators and educators at the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage recognize that a program with a strong academic tradition must offer its students a strong support system. At the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage you will never be just a number. Our Student Services staff will most likely know your name on the first day of class and will be at the ready should any student need academic support. That support begins on the first day of classes with our Study Skills workshop, where students complete a "learning styles inventory" aimed at maximizing their chances for success. Student Services offers an early intervention program for students requiring academic support. The program includes free group and individual tutoring, and review classes. The program has proved so successful that our graduation rates are approximately 97 percent.

The faculty at the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage works hard to provide students with a well-rounded educational experience constantly finding new and exciting ways to present material, like taking field trips to the cadaver lab, or modeling muscle groups in clay, or perhaps drawing them on a classmate's body.

Still, the staff at the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage strives not only to recognize you as a student enrolled in the program, but also as valued member of the student community. Student life is celebrated with Valentine's Pizza Parties, Halloween costume parties, Spring Break bagels, "Halfway Through the Program" cake, and Fourth of July parties. The nature of massage school and the staff's commitment to creating community help students to form bonds among themselves. You will make friendships at the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage that you will maintain for life.

The entire experience at the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage is designed to create pathways to success, not only in the classroom, but in life. It is the intent of the founders to foster and create a learning environment, with exceptional instructors and institutional leadership that encourages a gentle blend of extrinsic and intrinsic learning. The school's Executive Director, Van D'Elia, says, "If you graduate from the Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage and all you've learned is how the muscles and the bones function, and nothing about how you function, I'll be terribly disappointed."
